Workshop on quality & productivity for competitive advantage PDF Print E-mail

The project, in association with Haryana Chamber of Commerce & Industry (HCCI), Panchkula, organized a workshop on ‘Gaining competitive advantage through quality and productivity’ on 27th March, 2010 at Hotel K.C Crossroads, Panchkula. The participants included entrepreneurs and BDS providers along with office bearers and members of HCCI. The faculty at the workshop included knowledgeable and experienced professors of PEC University of Technology and ICFAI Business School, Chandigarh, who enlightened the participants on the importance of quality and productivity in enabling an industrial unit to gain an edge over competition

Mr Vishnu Goyal, General Secretary, HCCI emphasized the importance of maintaining quality in production. Mr Satish Gupta, Chairman, HCCI outlined the role of HCCI in the development of Panchkula industry. Prof. P Thareja, Head, Metallurgical Engineering Department, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh spoke on improved work methodologies such as concurrent engineering and cellular production, and how these yielded improved productivity and work efficiency as well as reduced costs. Mr Ashish Pillai, Faculty, IBS, Mohali spoke on how an MSME unit could develop a suitable growth strategy, and explained the importance of  mission and vision statements in enabling an industrial unit to achieve its long term goals. The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Mr C B Goel, ex-President, HCCI.
