Workshop on how to gain Competitive Advantage PDF Print E-mail

The project organized a workshop on ‘Elements of strategy for MSMEs to gain competitive advantage’ in association with Industries Association of Chandigarh (IAC) on 26th March, 2010 at CII, Chandigarh. The participants included entrepreneurs and BDS providers along with office bearers and members of IAC and Mohali Industry Association (MIA).

Mr Arun Mahajan, President, IAC emphasized the importance of strategizing for MSMEs to gain competitive advantage in the market. Mr Ashish Pillai, Faculty, IBS, Mohali explained key elements to be considered while formulating a strategy to achieve the long-term objective of the company. He described in detail the principal strategies that would enable MSMEs to become more profitable, and urged entrepreneurs to evolve proper mission and vision statements for their company.  He also explained the role of Business to Business (B2B) marketing and the need to differentiate one’s products from those of competitors.  Observing that the future of India is in the hands of MSME entrepreneurs, he cautioned them against being complacent in today’s hyper-competitive world. He urged the entrepreneurs to work out a long term strategy that would enable them to gain and maintain competitive advantage. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Mr Y.K Mahajan, Honorary Secretary, IAC.
