BDS sensitization workshop and BDS providers meet organized at Hotel Park Inn, Chandigarh on 30th October, 2009

 

A ‘Sensitization workshop for BDS providers and BDS meet’ was organized by TERI on 30 October 2009.  The participants comprised BDS providers across a range of service categories such as export assistance, IPRs and copyrights, accounting and financial services, product quality testing, and quality certification. Others who participated included academicians and office bearers of industry associations.

 

The main objectives of the workshop were to:

  • Make BDS providers aware about the objectives of the project and its relevance to them
  • To explain the distinction between a BDS provider and a consultant
  • To enable BDS providers to understand the various kinds of services they could provide to engineering enterprises
  • To provide them with a platform on which to interact with one another and come up with viable options/solutions that would enable growth of MSMEs in the cluster
  • To promote liaison between select BDS providers and the industry so as to expand their markets for mutual benefit

 

Following a presentation by TERI team regarding the purpose of the project, the BDS providers described in detail the various kinds of services they have been providing to MSMEs in the cluster. During the lively discussions that followed, the BDS providers expressed their enthusiasm for cooperating in the project in order to help MSMEs to flourish.
